Prospective Member Information

Can other communities join G19?

Yes. We are always looking for communities to join the league if they demonstrate that they hold to the ideals and beliefs of the league?

What are the requirements for joining?

The rules for joining are outlined in the by-laws which are available on this site. That said, G19 is very selective in who is given admission to the league. The community must demonstrate that they encourage taking as many players as want to play (full and open registration and not hand-picked teams), they are committed to giving each child playing time in every game and they will commit to dividing talent evenly between teams at a given age group.

What are roster size limits?

The league is adamant that teams of children ages 11 and under will be no larger than 22 kids. No exceptions will be made. At the 12s and 13s the roster limits are 25 players but some exceptions have been made due to the nature of the game at this age. Exemptions up to 31 players have been given at 12 and 13 but this should not be counted on in the future and each situation is unique and will be voted on by the league at a league meeting.

Who do I talk to about joining?

Contact a rep from one of the communities or contact the executive board to determine next steps.

What are the steps for joining G19?

Generally, you will be invited to a league meeting to talk about your program as well as answer questions from the member communities. After the discussions the league will vote to let you in as a probationary member. Probation lasts for one year.
