G19 History

The Greater 19 Youth Football League was formed in February 2000 by Bethel Park, Canon McMillan, Keystone Oaks, Upper St. Clair and Peters Township to provide a place where the children of their communities could play tackle football in a safe and instructional environment. Since the founding of the league four other communities have joined the Greater 19. They are North Allegheny, Seneca Valley, South Fayette and Thomas Jefferson.

The goals of G19 are simple. Provide an affordable and competitive football experience in which every child gets to play in every game with player safety being of the utmost concern. Each community is expected to emphasize growing their individual programs and accept as many children that wish to play the game. To ensure a competitive balance, each community is responsible for dividing their talent equally among teams at each age group.
